Types of Soaps and Handwash

Conventional Soaps

These are activated by the action of an alkali on fat or fatty acids and come in different forms--liquid, bar or powder form.

Lotions

These are used externally to skin for treating and conditioning skin ailments.

Antibacterial Soaps and Handwash

These combat the growth of microorganisms.

Antiseptic Soaps and Handwash

These clean the hands, for example, and fight bacterial as it has antibacterial activity and is designed to use on the skin to remove bacteria.

Foam Soaps

These are infused with air that creates a lather for a wider coverage.  Less water is used for lathering that makes hand washing time faster.

What Other Buyers Are Saying

There are many soaps and handwash available in shops and supermarkets so, it may take time to choose the best one for you.  This is why it's important for you read on reviews to know what works and what doesn't.

Here are some of the feedback that buyers have regarding a handwas:

I bought this after a hotel provided it in the room... Instantly hooked on the quality and aroma of this soap! It reminds me of Palmers cocoa butter but sweeter.... Almost want to lick my hands after washing!
But, please don't buy any... It's a limited edition and I want them all for myself :-)

soap and cream is lovely and would buy this brand again. Although i have only gave it 4 stars due to the poor quality of the base which is in two parts and is always separating - i am considering using super glue to hold it in place but wish it had been one piece to start with but otherwise a great item.

Very handy set for the bathroom. Slightly disappointed as the base was broken so had to throw it out but the bottles just sit together in the bathroom just the same. Lovely fragrance.

What to Look Out for

When choosing a soap or handwash, read the ingredients to make sure that you are not allergic to any of them.  Take to account what your needs are when it comes to using a soap or handwash.  For instance, if you have dry hands, select a moisturizing soap or handwash that would help your hands become soft and supple.
